Amuyao Part3

Day 3. October 5, 2008. Sunday. 6:20am. We woke up earlier to catch up with the rest of the team. Bread, water, and the leftover peanut butter is not what you might call a proper breakfast, but no one complained. We took time to gaze at the scenery that greeted us that morning. There was a calming of the spirit. And we were rejuvenated anew.

We caught up with the main group as they were preparing to break camp. It was great to finally be reunited with the others, and the sight of us must have been a complete relief for them as well. James, Cas, and I went about our business making sure our charge was comfortable and when she was ready, so were we.

There were no more incidents on the way to our exit, and of course after every trek there was much to celebrate. We got delayed when the jeepneys we rented didn't arrive as scheduled and the bus that took us home took forever, so we arrived in Manila very late in the morning the next day. No worries. The climbs are always worth the inconvenience. And I can't wait to be inconvenienced again! :-)
